For *Ugly-baka-girl
I finally finished it, sorry for taking so long! I hope you're not in shock seeing poor Feliks in such a fetching dress - I based their outfits on the clothes on the painting (see below), and the Polish king is wearing a sparkling golden gown. (I suppose Feliks' ~interesting~ fashion sense has to come from SOMEwhere. The other shock: GILBERT BOWING TO SOMEBODY. *head explodes* But this is really what happened in 1525... [history lesson incoming!] The "Prussian Homage" of 1525 was when the last Grand Master of the Teutonic Knights, after meeting Martin Luther, jumped ship from Catholicism to Protestantism, secularized his lands and founded the Duchy of Prussia as a fiefdom to the Polish king. Boy, were Holy Roman Empire and the Vatican pissed off at that. xD This is actually one of the few instances in history in which a German State was in a sorta-friendly relationship with Poland. Other than that, I'm afraid historically they pretty much win the worst-neighbours-ever award... even though Prussia was established with the help of Poland, later in history Prussia would participate/be a major force in wiping Poland off the map numerous times (comeuppance: Prussia is no more and its eastern regions belong to Poland today). [/history] Luckily all our countries bicker over these days are the occasional EU drama, asparagus and soccer matches. (Speaking of soccer: the story goes that till now, Poland has never managed to beat Germany once in a Europe/world cup match. So here's at least a video game victory for Feliks. -- Gilbert, Feliks & Ludwig (c) Himaruya Hidekaz Background: oil painting "The Prussian Tribute" by Jan Mateyko |

be your naked self anytime, anywhere
though i must disagree that that was the only time they banded together.
in the 15 to 16th century, turkey would become a major threat to europe. at first the holy roman empire poland and hungary refused to fight together.
that was until persuasion from the infamous dracula (Jep count vlad drakul aka dracula) who was in reality not a blood thursty vampire but a person who protected his people against the turks (they were Really sadistic and cruel at that time, especially against christians) by impaling the heads of his turkish oponents on stakes to demorolise them (it worked quite well).
Dracula (king of transylvania) died but because of his efforts he inspired the rest of europe, and the holy roman empire, poland, and hungary bounded together to create the holy league.
*pwew* man quess all those history lessons were good for something

Meanwhile, of course, Gilbert is knee-deep in denial and completely scandalized that someone like Mr. Mateyko recorded this moment for posterity.
"Me, BOW to Poland? W-where'd ya get a crazy idea like that?! Alright look, I was helping him find his contact lens, ok, it's not anything weird or--WHAT DO YOU MEAN CONTACTS WEREN'T AROUND BACK THEN. OF COURSE THEY WERE. HOW WOULD YOU KNOW, ANYWAY, GOD."
... but during those four years the Grand Master figured out that he could simply agree to his lands being a fiefdom to the Polish King and be done with it (the Polish king was, hilariously, his uncle. LOL FAMILY QUARRELS).
But thank you for this info, anyway!
(... how strange - apparently Prussia was not part of the Holy League, at least wiki doesn't list them as participants. o__0 Maybe they're counted as members of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth? Or they were completely unimportant? Or maybe HRE didn't want 'em damn Protestants meddling in their Holy Wars?
Anyway, agreed - history is funny when viewed through the Hetalia lens.

(Mr. Mateyko is probably Gil's ~special friend~. He also drew some large-scale painting of the Tannenberg/Grünwald battle and the Teutonic Order meeting a crushing defeat at the hands of the Polish-Lithuanian dream team. OUCH, Gil. That guy knows all about your failures.
