APH - The Lueneburg Rampage

I’m not even making this up.

Once upon a time (last year), some 18-year-old British soldier stationed on a base near Lüneburg, Germany, got completely drunk and, at four in the morning, had the bright idea to go on a cruise. Drunk driving, that’s one thing - but unfortunately this guy decided to steal a tank for his little tour. Awesome.

Luckily he was so drunk that, after mowing down the camp gates he quickly managed to… crash his tank by driving it into a tree. (Must’ve been some tree.) But not enough! While the camp was on high alert because someone had just stolen a tank and was presumably driving it god knows where planning to do god knows what, the guy managed to sneak back in and steal another car - this time an armored ambulance.

Back onto the road he went... but this time military police noticed him. So before he managed to crash THAT vehicle as well and finally stop his rampage, he ran a police car off the street on top of it all. And when he got arrested, he drunkenly explained to people he "just wanted to see green fields and trees".



Luckily noone got hurt during all this, so I don’t feel too bad about laughing for five minutes straight whenever I'm reminded of this little episode. Hetalification was necessary it because I think going on a rampage through Krautland in a spontaneously appropriated tank would be something that a drunk-out-of-his-wits Arthur would happily do. And later tell people he’d just been missing England’s Greenest Hills.

Ludwig is not amused, but when is he ever.
