Originally, I intended Rin to be in Inuyasha's place, but then Sesshoumaru looked really young, and so a little Inuyasha was more fitting. I like the idea of a more peaceful relationship between the two.

Pic shows the first time Inuyasha has to face cruelty and death in his life.
